Andreas Andreopoulos: The sacrifice
Twelve important archaeological exhibitions, nine modern art shows, three photography exhibition, a great cinema tour and a festival, four participations in book fairs and six writers' presentations, ten music and dance performances, two theater tours and two exhibitions on Greece's Olympic preparation. This events are organised on the occasion of the Greek Presidency in the EU.

This initiative of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture (HMC) is being transfered to 27 countries and 38 cities of Europe (plus two cities in the US and China) on the occasion of the Greek Presidency in the EU for the first half of 2003.

It is the most massive "exportation" of cultural goods ever attempted withing just six months by the HMC in the last years. This way, the HMC with all its departments and institutions, makes an effort to highlight on the extroversive character of the Greek Presidency, that sees culture, as a global achievement.

In this effort, the HMC and its services, join forces with 30 more institutions in order to bring about successfully this continental tour of events. The whole of the cultural events of the Greek Presicency 2003 abroad is been coordinated by the Directorate for the Greek-EU Relations of the HMC.
